Feature Book Review of the Month

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Saving Ruby King by Catherine Adel West is the type of book that sits with you for days. The more you find yourself thinking about it, the more and more you realize that this book is a FIVE STAR read.
Saving Ruby King is heavy. I mean HEAVY. It is a beautiful, thought-provoking tale that dives deep into relationships with strong generational ties. It is powerful and heartbreaking. And it’s brave especially for the characters that seek to break what appears to be an never-ending cycle of wrongs.
I HIGHLY recommend Saving Ruby Kind to readers who:
* Want a story with rich familial ties
* Want a tale with strong female friendships
* Who want to rad an amazing debut – I cannot wait to read more of Catherine Adel West’s future works.
CW: domestic violence

Thanks For The Book Hangover
The HYPE behind the Blood and Ash series by Jennifer L Armentrout is REAL. So real that when I reviewed them on Goodreads, my reviews were so short and simple. THERE IS SO MUCH THAT HAPPENS and THERE ARE SO MANY FEELINGS in both books that writing a full review for each would be too spoilery. So, here is what I wrote:
From Blood And Ash (Book #1): ALL THE STARS. ALL THE FEELS. READ IT.
A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire (Book #2): BETTER THAN THE FIRST BOOK. HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE? READ THIS SERIES NOW. Thank you for the book hangover, Jennifer.
It should go without saying both books received FIVE stars.

Other Notables
Lyrics On The Wind by Autumn Jones Lake: The seventeenth installment of the Lost Kings MC series has Rooster and Shelby ending on one of the best cliffhangers in the entire series. My Rating: 4.5 Stars | FULL REVIEW
The Wife Upstairs by Rachel Hawkins: I listened to this one on audio thanks to Libro.fm’s ALC program. The Wife Upstairs by Rachel Hawkins is wildly entertaining. Told in multiple point of views, it’s soapy, dark, and suspenseful. The synopsis of the book uses the word delicious and I could not agree more. This is the kind of love triangle I approve. My Rating: 4 Stars | FULL REVIEW
Crazy Stupid Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams: This friends to lovers romance has the more of what I particularly like in a romance: the slow burn, the push, the pull, the angst. My Rating: 4 Stars | FULL REVIEW
The Plot by Jean Hanff Korelitz: This advance copy (releasing May 11, 2021) is unlike any thriller I have read. It is a very slow, psychological thriller whose ending totally blew me away. It is so, so BRILLIANT! My Rating: 4 Stars | FULL REVIEW
Not For Me But Maybe It’s For You
You Have A Match by Emma Lord: Super cute but the subplot held more of my attention than the actual plot. My Rating: 3 Stars | FULL REVIEW
If I Disappear by Eliza Jane Brazier: This book has such an awesome premise. Yet, ugh. It does not work for me at all. My Rating: 2 Stars | FULL REVIEW
