Cinderella Is Dead by Kalynn Bayron
- Releasing July 7
- Genre: Young Adult
- Publisher: Bloomsbury YA
Why I am excited: I am here for any story about a young girl that is attempting to break down the system around her. It’s empowering especially for our younger generation.
The Shadows by Alex North
- Releasing July 7
- Genre: Thriller
- Publisher: Celadon Books
Why I am excited: I am a HUGE fan of The Whisper Man. The Shadows actually takes place in the same town of Featherbank with Detective Amanda Beck leading the way. It is said to be just as creepy as The Whisper Man, too.
Dear Emmie Blue by Lia Louis
- Releasing July 14
- Genre: Contemporary Fiction
- Publisher: Atria
Why I am excited: Dear Emmie Blue is a heartwarming story about fate and friendship. It’s a great summer read!
Craigslist Confessional: A Collection of Secrets from Anonymous Strangers by Helena Dea Bala
- Releasing July 7
- Genre: Nonfiction
- Publisher: Gallery Books
Why I am excited: This nonfiction read is “a collection of raw, urgent, and heartfelt stories, shared anonymously”. How can you not want to read that?
Big Friendship: How We Keep Each Other Close by Aminatou Sow and Anna Friedman
- July 14
- Genre: Nonfiction
- Publisher: Simon Schuster
Why I am excited: Aminatou and Anna host the podcast, Call Your Girlfriend. Have you listen to it? This book is an honest and humorous depiction of their friendship that will assist readers in cultivating their own.
Not Like The Movies by Kerry Winfrey
- Releasing July 7
- Genre: Romance
- Publisher: Berkley
Why I am excited: The synopsis alone screams summer read. I can picture myself reading this one on the beach. Isn’t that a good enough reason?
If you like this, why don’t you PIN it?
