June 2020 Reading List

I did not have a productive June as a book blogger. Did I read? Yes. Did I review? Nope. Instead, I spent the last two weeks social distancing at the beach. You are probably wondering if that was even possible and I must say that it was. The others on the beach kept their distance and the beach was not overly crowded.

You may also be wondering how will I catch up. Well, I am contemplating doing a week (Monday thru Friday) full of JUST reviews in order to catch up. What do you think?

June ARC Audio and Book Reviews

And that’s it….how embarrassing! I promise that I read this month and will get reviews to you.

Some day….

No really, you will get reviews soon to the following:

  • The Assassin’s Blade (Throne of Glass #0.5) by Sarah J Maas
  • The Jane Austen Society by Natalie Jenner
  • Beach Read by Emily Henry
  • Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass #3) by Sarah J Maas
  • Home Before Dark by Riley Sager
  • The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett

Awards and Superlatives

Awards and superlatives are selected by me and only me. I’m not the Academy Awards nor do I claim to be. These should be taken light and halfheartedly because they are fun….unless you are the actual author. Then, they should totally be taken seriously. Totally.

Favorite Book of the Month: The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett

Most Likely To Give A Book Hangover: The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett

Best Romance: Beach Read by Emily Henry

Baddest B On The Block: Celaena, Throne of Glass Series

Other Bookish Fun

I was able to squeak out a Top Six Anticipated Reads: June Edition which includes a bonus pick this month.

I also made an important statement regarding Black Lives Matter. If you missed that post and my plans on how to add more diversity into my reading, you can click on my announcement HERE.

Lastly, avid readers KNOW that there is normally a Book of the Month plug here. However, I am no longer an affiliate as they are revamping their goals to include more diversity. They landed themselves into a bit of hot water earlier this month. I hope they really stick by their plan. If they don’t, I will simply cancel my subscription.

Upcoming ARC / Book Reviews and Other Fun

#threefriendsbookclub Buddy Read News: June’s book club pick was The Southern Book Club’s Guide To Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix. However due to certain racist and sexist themes throughout the book, we scrapped the buddy chat.

July’s pick is Take A Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert. I LOVE Get A Life, Chloe Brown so you can imagine my excitement for this buddy read.

What’s a buddy read? It’s a small discussion with other bookworms on a chosen book. Basically, it’s virtual book club. Ours is really low key and informal, too. We don’t want any pressure!

One more item before I go, most of the books I read / review can be found at my Amazon store front: www.amazon.com/shop/jm_bibliolater. I even added a cookbook list because if you are like me, you are tired of cooking the same things over and over! If you have the budget and are wanting a new book or new cookbook, check it out.

Or if you are an audio listener, Libro.fm is my provider of choice! They are PHENOMENAL!

And as always, thank you for reading my blog!
