The first month of 2020 has come and gone. It has been quite a whirlwind. Not only did a new year begin but I also personally took another trip around the sun when I celebrated my birthday. I am a Capricorn through and through. No one can deny me of that.
Reading wise, I had a great month. My ratings averaged a 4.2. I had my first five star review of 2020 as well!

January ARC and Book Reviews
- Regretting You | Colleen Hoover | Romance | 4✨
- Big Lies In A Small Town|Diane Chamberlain|Historical Fiction| 4✨
- Tweet Cute | Emma Lord | YA |4✨
- The Wife and The Widow | Christian White | Thriller | 4✨
- The Song of Achilles | Madeline Miller |Historical Fiction | 5✨
I also read Dear Edward by Anna Napolitano but due to the recent helicopter crash that killed nine, including Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gigi, I decided to hold off until February to review. I had a hard time piecing together how I felt about the book after the news broke. Dear Edward is really good. Don’t let my lack of review hold you off from reading it.
Awards and Superlatives
Awards and superlatives are selected by me and only me. I’m not the Academy Awards nor do I claim to be. These should be taken light and halfheartedly because they are fun….unless you are the actual author. Then, they should totally be taken seriously. Totally.
Five Star Reads and Favorite Book of the Month: The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. This book just wrecked me.
Book That Did Not Live Up To The Hype: The Family Upstairs by Lisa Jewell. I did not review this for my blog because it is a DNF (do not finish for me). I could not get into it. It is the first DNF for 2020 and the first DNF in a long while.
Most Adorable: Tweet Cute by Emma Lord
Read That Became a Total Hoodwink: The Wife and The Widow by Christian White
Other Bookish Fun

In an attempt to start this new year right, I wrote a post telling you a few of my 2020 goals. If you missed this post, you can read it HERE.
I also gave a little update on my goals along with an idea on how I organize my life, my blog and Instagram. You can read all about that HERE.
Flirty February
One of my blogging friends, Latest Book Crush, dubbed February #FlirtyFebruary. Every book she is going to read will be a romance except for one which happens to be a buddy read with me.
What’s a buddy read? Over on Instagram, I announced a buddy read for The Chestnut Man (think of it as an anti-Valentine’s day read). We have a small chat going and will be reading and discussing it throughout the month. It’s basically a book club thru social media. You can expect that review in March.
As for the rest of the month, I have a few plans up my sleeve. You will just have to wait and see!
And as always, thank you for reading my blog! It’s officially been a year since I started this journey. I have learned so much and met so many awesome book worms and bloggers a long the way. I’ll share more on that soon.

Congrats on a year of blogging! Tomorrow will be my 4 year blogaversary 🙂
