Part Two of the Best Reads of 2019 by Jennifer Mitchell, Bibliolater is here!
As a reminder…..2019 was an awesome year for me. I started my blog and became part of both the blogging and bookstagram community. I read 85 books and dished out 19 five star reviews.
Narrowing down those 19 books to a Top Ten was quite hard. Each one is perfect in its own way. So, I’ve decided to do my TOP TEN a little unconventionally. My TOP TEN will be completed in two parts with a short list of a few honorable mentions to represent the other five star reviews. Hope you enjoy!
The Best of 2019 – Part II
(In no particular order)

Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Daisy Jones and The Six gave me the biggest book hangover of the year (the irony is not lost on me). The novel is a bittersweet, magical rock and roll story written like an old VH1 Behind the Music episode. The story feels so real – as if you are on the tour with Billy and Daisy and the rest of The Six the entire time. Daisy Jones and The Six made so many year end lists. It even became the 2019 Book of the Month Book of the Year and is quite possibly my favorite of the year, too.
Get A Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert
Get a Life, Chloe Brown is a must read. Hysterically funny. Delightful. Extremely clever. Inspiring. As a first time reader of Talia Hibbert, I went into this romance with no expectations and came out a TOTAL FAN. Get A Life, Chloe Brown provides so much joy. I could not stop laughing or smiling throughout the entire story. The plot put a huge smile on my face for days.
A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer
Fall in love. Break the curse. That’s the first two lines of the synopsis for A Curse So Dark and Lonely. Sound familiar? Of course it does! A Curse So Dark and Lonely is a Beauty and the Beast retelling and I am ALL ABOUT IT. This retelling has so many different takes on the characters and the curse and the outcome that it is both refreshing and totally enchanting. I could not put this book down.
The Whisper Man by Alex North
Words cannot describe how much I love The Whisper Man by Alex North. This story is simply fantastic. It’s a creepy, bone chilling read that has so many layers and so many twists and turns. The riddle alone sends chills down my spines. From the very first page, I was locked in. This is a must read for thriller fans!
Circe by Madeline Miller
Arguably the BEST audio book of the year. Enough said. Just kidding…. Circe by Madeline Miller was a complete and utter surprise to me. I first noticed it on Bookstagram and then noticed it is as the 2018 Book of the Year for Book of the Month. So I decided to give it a try. The alluring, mythological and fascinating tale of Circe is beyond amazing.
List of Honorable Mentions
