Review
Have you ever finish a book and asked yourself, “Did I really just read what I read?” But in a great way….like you are a bit flabbergasted and speechless with a side of joy and awe because you were just so focus on the current plot that you didn’t see the swift left turn the book was going to take?
That is The Girl He Used To Know.
I enjoy Annika and Jonathan immensely. Annika is on the Autism spectrum unbeknownst to her (most of the time) and I find her world to be fascinating. Jonathan is just as amazing. He loves Annika. He accepts her. He acknowledges how special she is.
I hope readers learn from their characters or that they gain a little more knowledge and compassion from reading both (especially Annika) perspectives.
Reader, I read this book in less than two days. It consumed me. I was so entranced by the story of Annika (rhymes with Monica) and Jonathan – with how they met, with their acceptance of each other, with how their past shaped their future that I didn’t see where the plot was going until I was there.
When I came to those last couple chapters..man did I cry. I was transported back in time and felt all the feels that I did back then. I’m not going to spoil it for you…to the time I am referring to as I just can’t. I want you to feel like I felt when I read this book. I want you to be transported back in time too. It’s one of the many reasons this book has all the feels.
Tracey Garvis Graves’ knows how to push the fold without being overbearing or predictable. She is refreshing to say the least. I am just in awe of her talent.
